Pu'uwai Productions California Tour We're back in Honolulu after a run in California at Yuba City and by the surfing communities where we showed the 12 minute promo for Waikiki: Riding the Waves of Change at the Duke's restaurants in Huntington Beach and Malibu and at the Surfing Heritage Foundation. To our delight surfers and non-surfers, young and all appeared to have enjoyed the film. California's broad sandy coastline, and picturesque, panoramic views of the Pacific were magnificent. Surfers on beautiful waves all the way up the coastline, regardless of temperatures, were inspiring. The connection between California and Hawaii proved that the surf culture has no boundaries. Everyone shared the aloha spirit, we felt very much at home with our new California friends. The viewing of our promo for Waikiki: Riding the Waves of Change began in Yuba City. Their warm reception and interest proved that even if you're not a surfer, people are interested in the surfing lifestyle. The folks in Yuba City are a warm, friendly community interested in everything exciting and new. Thanks to: • Java Retreat-Bill Hans, Owner and Managers Henry & Joyce Relski and Staff • Brick House-Don Blaser, Owner and Staff The Surfing Heritage Foundation in San Clemente. A world-class museum/archive facility. It serves as a symbolic center for the wave riding culture of the United States, dedicated to the understanding and appreciation of surfing as a sport, lifestyle, and culture. • Barry K Haun, Curator/Creative Director We showed our promo at both Duke's Restaurants, in Huntington and Malibu. They share magnificent ocean views, as they pay tribute to Hawaiian legendary surfer, Duke Kahanamoku. Their "ono" food and "Hula Pie", is served with warm hospitable service.
