What People Are Saying

On June 28, 07 we had a private screening of Waikiki: Riding the Waves of Change for the Beach Boys, Beach Community, our sponsors and contributors. Over 200 people came and many, many thanks to Jimmy Gusukuma of Rainbow Drive In and his crew who prepared dinner for everyone - It was a delight to watch the film with an audience seeing it for the first time. When making a film, you tend to question everything and perspective can get lost so we were very touched and gratified by the responses.

"Mahalo nui! What a wonderful piece of work.  The often referred to but somewhat difficult to exactly define ”Spirit of Aloha”, was visible and almost palpable in the movie, and in the eyes and hearts of those present at yesterdays screening. You have created an instant classic.  Congratulations."
Aloha, Norm Retheford.

"This film should be a prerequisite for all the newcomers who begin to work on the beach.   The younger generation would have an understanding of the shoes they are trying to fill."
Judy Jackson
"Congratulations again on a successful and beautiful production!  We're honored to be a part of it.                        PS: Mr. Jenkins (Leonard), one of the featured Beach Boys and musician, was Daniel's teacher from St. Louis.  It was a nice surprise to see him!”
Lydia Myashiro Ho, wife of Daniel Ho, three-time Grammy Award Winner, whose music is in the film.

"Thank you for an absolutely marvelous film.  Your endeavor and action to produce such a classicly well captured time capsule of the Waikiki culture is a mind blower.  Your film is worthy of more than you can imagine...it is perfectly documented...Don't give up...the journey has just started.  The rest of the world needs to see it!  Your marvelous.  A Hui Hou!
Robert Huber, longtime member of the Beach and Film communities.
